The “Lotte Reiniger Award”

Lotte Reiniger was a German-born silhouette animator
and creator of the first feature length animated film,
"The Adventures of Prince Achmed" (1926).  It is in
honor of her groundbreaking and uniquely breathtaking
film work that we give this award to a filmmaker we
feel continues on with the mythic tradition she started
over 80 years ago.
